Declarant

Our declarants are involved in handling customs formalities related to the import, export, and transit of fruit for various locations and customers of VDH Company. You are in close contact with customs, ensuring that the correct documents are prepared and finding solutions for customs-related problems. In this way, the logistical process does not face delays, and you relieve our customers. In Moerdijk, there is an experienced and friendly team of declarants looking for reinforcement. Your daily tasks include, among others:

• Ensuring correct and timely customs declarations for import, export, and transit.

• Checking and preparing customs documents, such as import, export, and transport documents.

• Assessing origin documents and customs permits.

• Maintaining contacts with customs, carriers, and other involved parties.

• Requesting inspections from the KCB.

• Identifying and solving customs-related issues.

• Advising internal and external stakeholders on customs procedures and regulations.

• Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations within the fruit sector.

• Keeping track of changes in customs legislation and translating them into practice.

• Administrative processing of customs files and tax returns.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive declarant who recognizes themselves in the following points:

• At least an MBO-4 or HBO degree in logistics, customs or similar.

• In possession of a declarant diploma (EVO/Fenex or equivalent).

• At least 2 years of experience as a declarant, preferably in the fresh produce sector.

• Knowledge of customs processes, HS codes and relevant legislation.

• Experience with declaration systems like DMS, DVA, and GPA.

• Good command of the Dutch and English languages.

• Proactive, accurate, and stress-resistant.

• Good communication skills and a problem-solving attitude.
